TUDOR’s unique Black Bay Ceramic One sells for CHF 350’000, which is more than HRK 2,000,000, at Only Watch biennial charity auction. The proceeds from this sale will go to support the research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Black Bay Ceramic One
A pioneer in the field of watchmaking, a historical supplier of the world’s largest navies and adventurers alike, TUDOR has a long history of fitting daring wrists with cutting-edge, robust time-keeping instruments. The Black Bay Ceramic One, with its unique combination of design, colour and materials, echoes this heritage. This new model in TUDOR’s flagship Black Bay line is offered to Only Watch in a unique matte black ceramic, titanium and stainless steel 41mm case. Fitted with the high-performance Manufacture Calibre MT5602, complete with a black PVD-coated rotor, this unique “sporty” piece is a concentration of the brand’s distinctive spirit, blending innovation, audacity and robustness.
The Black Bay Ceramic One, is TUDOR’s third contribution to Only Watch after the Black Bay One in 2015 and the Black Bay Bronze One – LHD in 2017, which sold for impressive CHF 375,000, which is more than HRK 2,000,000. For reference, a regular production Black Bay model in stainless steel on leather strap retails for CHF 3250.–. The results achieved at Only Watch are thus more than 100 times the average price in that line of product and can be partly explained by the fact that aside from the Only Watch project, TUDOR never produces one-offs.

Tudor is Born To Dare
In 2017, Tudor launched a new campaign with the “Born To Dare” signature. It reflects both the history of the brand and what it stands for today. It tells the adventures of individuals who have achieved the extraordinary on land, on ice, in the air or underwater, with a Tudor watch on their wrists. It also refers to the vision of Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Tudor, who manufactured Tudor watches to withstand the most extreme conditions, watches made for the most daring lifestyles. It is testimony to Tudor’s singular approach to watchmaking, which has made it what it is today. At the cutting edge of the watchmaking industry, its innovations are now essential benchmarks. The Tudor “Born To Dare” spirit is supported throughout the world by first class ambassadors, whose life achievements result directly from a daring approach to life.
Tudor is a Swiss made watch brand, offering mechanical watches with sophisticated style, proven reliability and unique value for money. The origins of the Tudor brand date back to 1926, when ‘The Tudor’ was first registered on behalf of the founder of Rolex, Hans Wilsdorf. He created the Montres TUDOR SA Company in 1946 to offer watches with the quality and dependability of a Rolex, at a more accessible price point. Throughout their history, Tudor watches have been chosen by the boldest adventurers and seasoned professionals alike. Today, the Tudor collection includes emblematic lines such as Black Bay, Heritage, Pelagos, Glamour and 1926 and, since 2015, it has offered mechanical manufacture movements with many diverse functions.
