Your watch deserves the most exacting attention to maintain it for a lifetime so service is extremely important in preserving the watch performance. The Rolex watch service requires exceptional expertise and experience, specific tools and original Rolex parts that we offer in our Rolex Service Center for Croatia.
Caring for your Rolex watch
Your Rolex timepiece registers 86 400 seconds every day, year after year, and its balance wheel rim travels the equivalent of 37 000 kilometres over five-year period. Your Rolex is a complex precision instrument that requires periodic servicing by a Rolex-trained watchmaker to ensure that it will perform optimally throughout its life.
Rolex watch service
The Rolex service procedure is designed to ensure that every timepiece leaving a Rolex workshop complies with its original functional and aesthetic specifications. Each movement is completely overhauled and each case and bracelet is meticulously refinished to restore its lustre. Timekeeping accuracy and water-resistance are rigorously tested to guarantee the level of quality and reliability you naturally expect from a Rolex watch.
Polishing is one of the most telling stages in servicing a Rolex watch, providing the metal surfaces with intense lustre and smoothness. Despite the advent of automated technology, the process remains steeped in a skilled craft, combining a deft touch with calculated precision, organized steps and perfectly mastered movements.
The required frequency of servicing a Rolex watch
There is no specific time period that defines when your watch needs to be serviced, it is rather individual for each watch. If the watch is accurate, and there is no change in its performance, accuracy and reliability of timing, then no service is required. If you notice a deviation greater than those defined for each calibre, you should bring your watch to an authorized Rolex service centre for diagnostic examination to determine the cause of the performance irregularity.
For certain damage caused by inattentive wear, it is necessary to react quickly to prevent further damage. For example, in case of glass breakage, it is advised to stop the hands by unscrewing and pulling the winding crown out, to prevent further damage of the dial and the hands caused by moving the glass pieces by the hands.
Furthermore, in the event of water entering the watch due to improper closing of the winding crown, it is necessary to bring the watch as soon as possible to an official service center because water, especially salt water, causes great damage to the dial but also to the movement in a very short time.
Servicing a Rolex watch at unauthorised watchmakers
We do not recommend servicing a Rolex at unauthorized Rolex service watchmakers because there is a high risk of watch damage much larger than it actually is. Damage is caused by incompetence of the watchmaker and the use of non-original tools, equipment and parts, thus voiding the Rolex warranty and affecting the originality of your Rolex watch.
Servicing a Rolex watch
When your watch is serviced by Rolex, the watch is completely dismantled and all of its components are ultrasonically cleaned. Each individual component is closely examined and those that no longer meet Rolex’s functional and aesthetic specifications are replaced with genuine Rolex parts. The movement is carefully lubricated then electronically tested to guarantee its timing accuracy; the case and the metal bracelet are meticulously refinished to restore their lustre. Your Rolex then undergoes a series of rigorous technical tests and checks to guarantee its waterproofness, power reserve and precision. After a complete Rolex service, your watch is covered by a two-year international service guarantee.
Duration of the Rolex watch service
A complete overhaul takes a minimum of four to six weeks depending on the condition of your watch. Before carrying out a service, a highly-skilled Rolex-trained watchmaker conducts a thorough diagnostic examination of your watch. After carefully examining the case and bracelet, the watchmaker extensively tests and inspects the movement to determine exactly what service procedures will be necessary to ensure your watch meets Rolex’s stringent performance requirements.
